Isaque Hattu, the Chair of the Indonesian Diaspora in São Paulo, warmly welcomed the President during his visit, expressing the community’s joy at the opportunity to greet their homeland’s leader. Despite being a small community in Brazil, Hattu emphasized the strong sense of solidarity among the Indonesian diaspora members.
During the meeting, Hattu had the chance to engage in a casual conversation with President Prabowo, sharing his family background with roots in Maluku and Kupang. The President showed genuine interest and even recognized the name of Petrus Oktavianus, an Indonesian figure with ties to Brazil. As the meeting wrapped up, Hattu expressed his hopes that Prabowo’s leadership would help strengthen the bond between Indonesia and Brazil through cultural exchange, grassroots involvement, and promoting a deeper understanding of Indonesia among the Brazilian people.
