President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, embarked on a journey to Bandung, West Java, via the Whoosh high-speed train, accompanied by members of the public from Halim Station in Jakarta. Prabowo arrived at the station at around 7:45 p.m. local time, dressed in a cream-colored outfit and a navy blue cap, blending in with fellow passengers. His presence sparked surprise and excitement among commuters as he waved and engaged warmly with the crowd.
Before boarding the train, Prabowo took photos with the Whoosh crew and at 8:00 p.m., the high-speed train departed for Tegalluar Station in Bandung. The President is set to open the 2025 Indonesian Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) at the Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) from August 7 to 9. Alongside Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Prabowo will deliver the keynote address.
Under the theme “Economic Growth and Equity Through Mastery of Science and Technology,” KSTI 2025 aims to become a strategic forum on both national and international levels.
