President Prabowo Subianto has full confidence in Indonesia’s ability to achieve net-zero carbon emissions on schedule, positioning the country as a pioneer in this milestone. Speaking during a video conference on the inauguration of renewable energy development and oil production expansion in East Java, Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s efficiency in energy generation and reducing logistics costs.
Energy independence is crucial to Indonesia’s vision of national sovereignty, with the government’s strategy focusing on implementing 55 new renewable energy projects, including geothermal power plants, to deliver clean, reliable, and efficient energy throughout the archipelago.
President Prabowo praised the collaborative efforts of ministries, regulatory bodies, and energy companies like Medco Energi and ExxonMobil in supporting Indonesia’s energy transition. While recognizing the country’s significant oil and gas reserves, he underscored the importance of renewable energy, especially solar power, in ensuring energy self-sufficiency for communities nationwide.
Optimistic about Indonesia’s future, Prabowo highlighted solar energy as a beacon of hope for villages, districts, regencies, and remote islands. By harnessing renewable energy sources, Indonesia can lead the way towards a brighter and more sustainable future.
